Dawn is a Colorado native. She grew up in the Englewood area and graduated from High School at St. Mary’s Academy in 1982. After graduating from High School, Dawn went to Lavonne’s Academy and obtained her Cosmetology degree in 1982, then began her career as a Hair Stylist.
Dawn worked as an employee from 1982 to 1985 in the industry, then as a sole proprietor from 1985 to 1998. In 1998 she purchased Salon Vogue at Arapahoe & Quebec in Centennial and renamed and incorporated it as Salon du Soleil. When Dawn purchased Salon du Soleil it had 8 hair stations, 6 Hairdressers, 2 manicure tables and 1 Manicurist. Dawn grew the business and expanded the salon to eventually have 18 hair stations, 28 Hairdressers, 6 manicure tables, 4 Manicurists, a massage room and a skin care room. In 2006 Dawn sold Salon du Soleil, but continued working there as a Stylist until opening Hype in November of 2009.
